China: US is committing cyber theft worldwide.
According to Sputnik, Liu Binguo, a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, told Sputnik that the United States is the initiator of cyber attacks, but it defames other countries.
Regarding Washington’s recent sanctions against Chinese technology companies under the pretext of cyber attacks, he said: “It should be emphasized that the United States is the initiator and is the initiator of cyber attacks and thefts around the world, and it should not use cybersecurity issues to discredit other countries.”
The Chinese diplomat added: “We urge the United States to stop cyber attacks in different regions of the world and not use cybersecurity issues to discredit other countries.”
According to the spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Washington, “The United States continues to make accusations without credible evidence to defame China’s reputation by imposing sanctions on Chinese companies.”
The US Treasury Department had previously announced sanctions against the Chinese company Integrity Technology Group (also known as Yongxin Zhicheng) for allegedly carrying out state-sponsored cyberattacks against the US.
In retaliation, China’s Ministry of Commerce announced on Thursday that it was imposing export restrictions on 28 US companies, including a ban on the export of dual-use goods to these companies.
The statement said that the sanctions and restrictions would take effect on January 2, 2025 and that they were imposed “to safeguard national security and interests, as well as to implement international non-proliferation obligations.”
The restrictions also halted any export activities related to these companies.
China’s Ministry of Commerce announced in December that Beijing had tightened restrictions on exports of dual-use items to the US, including a ban on the export of gallium, germanium, antimony, and superhard materials.
