Iran and Pakistan hold consultations on strengthening cooperation in the railway sector

PNN – Iranian Ambassador and Pakistani Railway Minister discussed strengthening cooperation in the railway sector in a meeting.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Federal Minister for Railways of Pakistan, met with Reza Amiri Moghadam, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, on Thursday and emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening brotherly relations with Iran based on mutual respect, shared history and cultural ties.

During the meeting, measures for the repair and renovation of the Quetta-Taftan railway section in Pakistan were also discussed, and improving security and infrastructure was considered essential for the continuation of rail operations.

The Iranian Ambassador and the Pakistani Federal Minister for Railways also agreed to further enhance exchanges in the railway sector and bilateral cooperation in other sectors.

The meeting also discussed the regional situation, especially in West Asia, in which Pakistan reiterated its support for peace and diplomatic solutions.

The Iranian Ambassador also appreciated Pakistan’s positive and constructive role in the meeting and praised its efforts to contribute to peace and stability in the region.

The parties in the meeting considered the ongoing efforts for peace, dialogue and reduction of tensions effective.
