Israeli Army Chief of Staff: I am fully responsible for the defeat.
According to Al Jazeera, Herzliya Halevi, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, said that he is fully responsible for the failure to protect the Israeli settlers during the October 7 war.
He added: “Our responsibility was to protect our people, and we failed in this, and I will bear responsibility for this failure for the rest of my life.”
Halevi claimed that the regime assassinated most of Hezbollah’s leaders, including Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and martyred 4,000 Hezbollah forces.
Herzliya Halevi added: “I have no intention of remaining in charge, and now is the right time to make decisions.”
Israeli media reported that Herzliya Halevi had informed Defense Minister Yisrael Katz that he intended to resign on March 6, 2025.
According to these media reports, Halevi admitted that the reason for his resignation was the failure of the October 7, 2023 operation.
