In this regard, for the first time in more than four years, the threat level in England was raised from “considerable” to “severe” after a stabbing attack on two Jewish men in the Golders Green neighborhood in north London. The British capital’s police announced that the “Jewish Community Protection Team” will consist of 100 officers who will be responsible for specialized patrols focused on “protecting and countering terrorism in neighborhoods.”
London Police Chief Mark Rowley also emphasized the importance of this measure and said he plans to increase the number of officers in this unit to 300. He claimed: This team is an important step in strengthening the fight against ongoing threats against the Jewish community.
He added: This team is made up of experienced local forces who have a detailed understanding of their communities and, by utilizing specialized capabilities, provide a more tangible, coherent, and intelligence-based security presence to ensure protection.
Meanwhile, Stephen Parkinson, the Attorney General for England and Wales, announced that the process of prosecuting crimes motivated by “hate against Jews” would be accelerated, saying that “anti-Semitic incidents have increased at a worrying rate.”
Of course, he did not mention the root and reason for this so-called hatred of Jews, which is a result of the crimes of the Zionist regime. The “Community Security Fund”, which is responsible for protecting British Jews, also considered this action an important step in the context of escalating hatred against Jews and emphasized that this decision indicates the seriousness of the threats ahead.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also announced the allocation of an additional £1.5 million in funding to strengthen the protection of Jews. British Home Secretary Shebane Mahmood also said today that the London government “will do everything in its power to rid society of anti-Semitism.”
He also emphasized increasing police budgets and security around Jewish sites. The intensification of what is called “anti-Semitism” in Britain comes after many campaigns, rallies, and demonstrations were launched in the past years in the midst of the Gaza war aimed at stopping arms support for the Zionist regime in this country, but the London government has continued to support this support, ignoring all of them.
