According to news sources, at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, on July 26, a group with a mocking performance of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” painting was displayed. Parts of this show have been widely broadcast on social networks and have faced many criticisms.
Various countries such as Russia and Hungary criticized the opening ceremony and its performances.

Following the mockery of Christians at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Armenian Archbishop Sahak Mashalian also called for a boycott of these games. This Christian bishop, who was speaking during a prayer ceremony, addressed the Christian community and raised this question: When Christ (PBUH) is mocked in front of you, whose side are you on?
He added: “I personally do not watch the Olympic Games at all, and even if Armenian athletes win gold medals, we should not be happy.”
While condemning the mockery of Christ (pbuh) and Christians, this archbishop announced that the Olympics are no longer a symbol of peace and the approach of these competitions is anti-Christ and Christianity, but the Christian community has remained silent in the face of these disrespects and insults.
Sahak Mashalyan swore to God alone and requested that the followers of Christ break their silence and show their protest. He added: I will send my protest to the Olympic Games Implementation Committee.
