PNN – Following the recent events in Karbala, the leader of the Sadrist movement issued an urgent order calling for the disarmament of affiliated forces and a decisive deal with the perpetrators of these incidents.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; According to Al-Sumaria News, Sayyed Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadrist movement in Iraq, issued a statement on Saturday ordering the collection of all weapons belonging to the “Saraya al-Salam” organization in the city of Karbala within a maximum of five days.
In this order, he emphasized to his jihadi deputy that this action must include all units, both active and inactive, and be implemented only within the holy city of Karbala.
Sadr also called for the restructuring of the “Saraya al-Salam” (Peace Brigades), a complete change of commanders, and a thorough review of other members within a month, and emphasized the selection of qualified individuals from among the residents of Karbala to replace them.
Sadr then ordered the confiscation of all cars and vehicles associated with those involved in the recent incidents.
He declared his complete innocence and that of the Sadr family, and called for an investigation into them, suggesting that these individuals may have subversive tendencies.
The leader of the Sadrist Movement also called for a list of the names of the accused so that the necessary measures, including disclosing their identities and characteristics, can be taken as soon as possible.
He further emphasized the need to criminalize any collaboration with these individuals and announced that the violators must be handed over to the competent authorities so that legal proceedings can be taken against them.
Finally, Sadr noted that the punishment for some of these individuals may be very severe and may even lead to execution.
The statement came after the Iraqi Interior Ministry announced on Saturday that security forces had arrested those involved in a clash in Karbala province that followed a verbal argument that led to shooting.
The ministry’s statement said that on Friday evening, a verbal clash between the two sides began in the “Al-Askari” neighborhood in the “Al-Taqa” area of Karbala and then escalated into an armed clash outside a memorial ceremony.
According to the report, the incident left several citizens injured and they were taken to medical centers for treatment.
Security forces immediately took action, established strict security measures at the scene of the incident, and managed to arrest 11 of the main suspects in the clash.
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior emphasized that the Karbala Provincial Police Command is in full control of the situation and that the security situation is currently stable, and no specific developments have been reported after the incident.
Finally, the ministry called on citizens to refrain from inciting clashes, abide by the law, and cooperate with security forces to maintain security and stability.
