PNN – Israel is likely facing a new scandal centering once again on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the Hebrew-language news site Srugim reported that Tally Gotliv, a member of the Knesset (parliament), issued an unusual warning today to Likud party voters, stating that some polling stations during the primary elections contained counterfeit ballots that did not bear her name.
Gottlieb wrote: To Likud voters! There are polling stations where voters are being handed fraudulent ballot forms that do not list my name!! She urged voters to carefully examine the ballot paper before marking their preferred candidates.
Gottlieb did not specify the polling stations where these forms were found but asked voters to send any information regarding similar incidents directly to her. She wrote: Stay vigilant and report any new information directly to me.
The Knesset member linked the incident to internal power struggles within the Likud party, emphasizing that organized factions within the party act based on the support they garner among the membership. According to her: Likud activists and vote-gatherers have become captivated by the power of the open vote
Gotliv also issued a stern warning regarding the validity of ballot boxes containing such forms, stating her intention to move for their annulment: Any ballot box containing a forged form will be invalidated.
Meanwhile, the Hebrew-language news outlet Ynet, while confirming reports of election fraud, stated that with two and a half hours remaining until the polls closed, only 36 percent of eligible voters had cast their ballots.
According to this Zionist media outlet, clashes erupted at some polling stations in Haifa, and several stations were vandalized.
