Oxfam called for the prevention of further Israeli crimes in Rafah

PNN – Simultaneously with the beginning of the military operation of the Zionist regime in the border city of Rafah, a senior director of the international aid organization Oxfam issued a statement warning about the humanitarian consequences of this attack and asked the world powers to take action before more crimes against the Palestinian people.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Middle East and North Africa Regional Director of Oxfam, Sally Abi Khalil wrote in this statement: We are horrified by Israel’s order to evacuate about 100,000 people in Rafah. This attack comes as world leaders have called on Israel to stop its continuous and brutal aggression.

He added: “The fear is palpable in Rafah, because people who have already been forced to flee Gaza several times, now have to flee again.”

Oxfam’s senior director reminded: Israel has deliberately and systematically targeted civilians and aid workers for more than 6 months, so any claim that civilians can safely leave the area is invalid.

He added: Considering that Israel is currently preventing aid, fuel or goods from entering the two vital crossings of Rafah and Kerem Shalom, humanitarian efforts to save people’s lives in this area have become more difficult.

Abi Khalil pointed out: It is incomprehensible that a government is allowed to ignore all warnings about the catastrophic humanitarian cost with complete impunity and ruthlessly disregard human lives, international laws and the ruling of the International Court of Justice to prevent genocide.

He added: World powers must intervene before more crimes occur and make more efforts to establish an immediate and permanent ceasefire in order to end the death and destruction in Gaza.

The war cabinet of the Zionist regime approved the ground attack on the city of Rafah, located in the south of the Gaza Strip. Reports indicate that the army of this terrorist regime has occupied the Palestinian part of this city today.

The spokesperson of the crossings board of the Gaza Strip also stated that this crossing was closed due to the presence of the tanks of the Zionist regime inside it.
