The decision was taken after a complaint was filed by an anti-Israel organization in Brussels, which seeks to prosecute Zionist soldiers globally.
This Zionist soldier, who had just finished his service and went to Brazil for vacation, should have been investigated according to the court order, but he escaped from Brazil last night.
This incident has caused concern in Israel. Yuli Edelstein, head of the Knesset’s foreign affairs and security committee, has asked the cabinet to take measures to protect its soldiers from prosecution.
Yair Lapid, the leader of the opposition, also accused the cabinet of failing in the world arena and demanded the formation of an investigative committee to prevent such incidents.
In the framework of a “historical legal event”, the Federal Court of Brazil issued an urgent investigation against a Zionist soldier who is currently on vacation in this country, accused of committing crimes in the Gaza Strip.
Diab Abu Jahjah, head of Rajab Hind Foundation, called this legal action a “historical event” and a “powerful precedent for nations” so that they can “act boldly and hold perpetrators of war crimes accountable.”
The Rajab Hind Foundation has also recently started legal proceedings in Argentina and Chile and requested the arrest of another Zionist soldier named “Sar Hirschhorn” for the crime of war crimes in Gaza from the governments of the two countries.
Hirschhorn, who is a member of the Israeli Army’s 749th Combat Engineer Battalion, is accused of war crimes committed in Gaza during the escalation of tensions by the occupation regime, which resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians.
“Nelson Haddad”, a lawyer who is one of the members of this group, emphasized that it is necessary to “take our responsibility”: Israeli soldiers who were involved in the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza cannot be allowed to use our country as a vacation destination.
In January 2024, nearly 100 Chilean lawyers filed a complaint against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the International Criminal Court, accusing him of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
