Reuters claimed that Qatar had talks with Iran and the United States about the nuclear issue.
The English news agency reported that Qatar had separate bilateral meetings with the United States and Iran in which they discussed Iran’s nuclear program and the United States’ concerns about the alleged transfer of Iranian drones to Russia.

Reuters news agency, citing two knowledgeable sources, reported that Qatar had separate bilateral meetings with the United States and Iran this week, in which they discussed Iran’s nuclear program and the United States’ concerns about the alleged transfer of Iranian drones to Russia.

According to Reuters, quoting the mentioned sources, “these meetings did not include the round-trip diplomacy that Qatar conducted in Doha this year, in which Qatari diplomats traveled between the two sides, and ultimately led to the exchange of prisoners on Monday between Iran and the United States. became”.

Sources have previously told Reuters that Qatar is pressuring the two sides to engage in further talks to reach “understandings”.

An unnamed source told Reuters the meetings took place on Monday and Tuesday in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. A second source, a diplomat in West Asia, said more bilateral talks would take place this week but did not provide details.

According to Reuters, the diplomat described the New York meetings as “dialogue for dialogue”, adding that the idea was to lay the groundwork for future indirect talks to reach an “understanding” on the nuclear issue.

According to this report, a European diplomat said he did not know whether Qatar had raised the issue of nuclear and drones in bilateral meetings, but expressed doubts about Iran’s nuclear program. He said: Nothing is impossible. But I have doubts, especially about the nuclear issue where the mediation is generally done by Oman.

On the evening of Monday 27 September, following the implementation of the agreement between Iran and the United States for the exchange of prisoners, five Iranian prisoners, including Mehrdad Moin Ansari, Kambiz Attar Kashani, Reza Serhangpour Kafrani, Amin Hassanzadeh, and Kave Lotfollah Afrasiabi, were released. Mehrdad Moin Ansari and Reza Serhangpour entered Iran.

In this exchange, three American spies, “Siamak Namazi”, “Imad Sharqi” and “Morad Tahbaz”, along with two others, one of whom was a woman, were released and transferred to Doha, and from there they went to America.

On Monday, the process of freeing Iran’s blocked assets in South Korea was completed and these amounts were deposited into Iran’s accounts in Qatari banks. The aforementioned agreement was reached between Iran and the United States on August 19.
