PNN – After reports of a shooting near the White House, security officials blocked access to it and removed reporters from the White House grounds.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the sound of gunfire near the White House prompted the US Secret Service to immediately cordon off the area around the White House. Following the incident, security was tightened throughout the White House, with several areas placed under security.
Reports indicate that gunshots were heard near 15th Street and Independence Avenue, and the incident led to immediate security measures being taken around key locations in the palace, including the press office, and images posted on social media show security officers moving reporters from the palace grounds to the press conference room.
Details of the incident have not yet been released.
