PNN – The Russian news agency Sputnik published an analysis coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force, and mentioned him as a holy fighter against imperialism, Zionism and Takfiri terrorism created and paid for by America.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in this article published in English by Ilya Tsukanov, it is stated: Around one o’clock in the morning on the 3rd of January 2020 local time, Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, died (martyred) in an American drone attack at the Baghdad International Airport, but today, five years after this incident, the fruit of his efforts and the consequences America’s attempt to assassinate him continues to ripple throughout the Middle East.
The Sputnik news agency analyst discussed the achievements of IRGC Quds Force during his command from 1998 to the time of his martyrdom, referring to the history of General Soleimani’s life and his role in the holy defense era.
This Russian media wrote: In the years leading up to Israel’s attack on Lebanon in 2006, General Soleimani provided assistance, including guerrilla warfare training, to Hezbollah, which humiliated the Israeli army and forced it to sign a humiliating cease-fire.
In this analysis, referring to Iran’s role in fighting the Zionist regime and supporting Islamic resistance fighters in Gaza despite the religious differences, he quoted the statements of a senior Hamas official who said: The tunnel networks that today have turned Gaza into a swamp for the forces of the Zionist regime, were to a large extent the product of “Soleimani’s” thoughts.
Sputnik further pointed to Iran’s advisory role and support for anti-terrorism operations in Damascus, and reminded the role of General Soleimani in Russia’s participation in the process of fighting against the ISIS terrorist group in Syria.
This Russian media added: The coordination and training of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, which played an important role in the ground operations to suppress the ISIS think tank, was one of the other activities of General Soleimani.
In this analysis, it is stated: The IRGC Quds Force played a role in the liberation of Sunni and Shia communities in the Middle East from the scourge of Takfiri extremism and the salvation of minorities, from Christians and Kurds to Yazidis and Alevis, during the leadership of Soleimani.
This Russian media also published a picture of Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the martyred president of Iran, during his speech at the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, holding a picture of the martyred General Qassem Soleimani.
Sputnik further wrote: Iran has repeatedly emphasized that the perpetrators of the assassination of General Soleimani should be brought to justice. In late 2023, the Tehran court ordered the US government and dozens of individuals and entities accused of conspiring to assassinate the commander of the Quds Force, as part of a class action, to pay nearly 50 billion dollars in compensation for “material, moral and criminal damage”.
According to this Russian media, the court declared then President Donald Trump, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the National Security Agency, the US spy agency and 38 other individuals, organizations and institutions responsible for assassinating Soleimani.
