Syria is preparing to hold parliamentary elections; Everything is ready to compete for 250 seats

PNN – Syria is preparing to hold the People’s Assembly (Parliament) elections, and 8,953 candidates, including 1,317 women, are competing for seats.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in a report entitled “Syria called for broad participation in the preparation of the People’s Assembly elections and the Baath Party”, it analyzed the situation in this country on the eve of the parliamentary elections and stated: The election campaigns of election candidates continue through public meetings and the establishment of election headquarters, and the Ba’ath party has called for widespread participation in the elections.

The channel added: The election campaigns of the candidates for the Syrian People’s Assembly elections are being followed closely, especially in the provinces of Damascus, Aleppo and Latakia. In the meantime, the Baath party issued a statement calling for widespread participation in the July 15 elections and considered widespread participation at the polls as a national, party, and public responsibility.

Al-Mayadeen network further pointed out the readiness of the Syrian government to hold elections and provide all its preparations and said that there is complete coordination between the ministry and relevant institutions in order to hold this process in the best possible way and allow Syrian citizens to vote.

The number of parliamentary seats in the Syrian People’s Assembly is 250, for which 8,953 candidates, including 1,317 women, are competing. The Syrian People’s Assembly is the legislative body of this country since 1971. The last parliamentary elections in Syria were held on June 19, 2020.
