PNN – The aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford will return to the United States in the coming days after 10 months at sea, several US officials told the Washington Post.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the departure of the aircraft carrier, one of three in the region, represents a significant reduction in Washington’s firepower amid a fragile ceasefire with Tehran and while the US maintains a naval blockade of Iranian ports.
One of the officials said the aircraft carrier would likely arrive in Virginia around mid-May.
