The European Union is considering further sanctions against the Israeli regime.

PNN – A Western media outlet reported that the European Union is considering a list of new sanctions against the Zionist regime.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, NTV reported that Brussels is considering a list of additional sanctions, including against ministers of Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the child-killing Zionist regime.

The EU’s actions against violent Zionist settlers have angered Netanyahu. In addition to the Israeli prime minister, his cabinet colleague and Minister of National Security, Ben Gwer, is also criticizing Brussels.

The EU could soon target Ben-Gower and another Israeli minister with sanctions, according to reports.

The resignation of Viktor Orbán as Hungarian prime minister has already broken the deadlock in Brussels. Under his successor, Péter Magyar, EU foreign ministers have managed to agree on sanctions against violent Israeli settlers in the West Bank, sanctions that Orbán had previously refused to impose, and this could be just the beginning.

Meanwhile, several EU member states are calling for increased pressure on the Zionist regime.

Supporters of the plan include the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Ireland and major powers such as Spain and France. According to NTV, further measures could also target members of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet.

The EU had previously imposed a first package of smaller sanctions against Israel in 2024 over settler violence. The new plans represent a significant expansion of these measures. The sanctions target a total of 10 settlers and settlement organizations accused of violence against Palestinians. Accordingly, the assets of the targeted individuals will be frozen and they will be banned from entering and transiting the EU. In addition, it is prohibited to provide funds or economic resources to the sanctioned individuals from the EU.

Ben-Gwer and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich have been targeted by the European Union for sanctions due to their far-right policies. However, specific sanctions have so far failed due to a lack of consensus among member states. However, potential measures against Ben-Gwer and Smotrich are included in a list of further sanctions options prepared by the European External Action Service (EEAS).

Kaia Kalas, head of the European External Action Service (EEAS) as the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, had previously made it clear that he wanted to expand the list of possible sanctions against the regime as soon as possible.

Speaking to reporters in Brussels, he complained that EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič has yet to come up with a proposal for a formal ban on trade with settlers. The council does not yet have the majority needed for such a ban, which requires a positive vote of at least 55 percent of member states representing at least 65 percent of the EU’s population. Germany, Austria and several central and eastern European countries are particularly resistant to further measures against Israel or settlers in the West Bank. However, Kallas seems to believe that a majority for a trade ban is possible in the medium term.

The most powerful additional sanctions the EU is considering are the possibility of a partial suspension of the Israel-EU cooperation agreement.

The agreement currently guarantees low tariffs, close cooperation on research and energy, and Israel’s status as a privileged partner of the EU. A partial suspension of the agreement would primarily cut off favorable access to the EU market.

The European Commission presented the relevant proposal in September. However, a qualified majority for this trade policy measure has not yet been found among European heads of state and government. Berlin and Rome in particular are refusing to agree to it.
