PNN – The suspect in the shooting at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen of Torrance, California, who was arrested by security agents and bodyguards for US President Donald Trump.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; The US Attorney’s Office has filed an indictment against the shooter at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on charges of “attempting to assassinate the President of the United States.”

According to the BBC, the judge in the case read out all the charges against Cole Thomas Allen, the suspect in the shooting at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, as follows: The charges include attempted assassination of the President of the United States, use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and transportation of a firearm in interstate commerce with intent to commit a felony.

Federal prosecutor Jocelyn Ballantyne said Allen crossed multiple state lines in an attempt to assassinate the president of the United States.

Allen is said to have had a 12-gauge shotgun, three knives and other weapons.

The young man, armed with a gun and a knife, stormed the lobby of a prestigious correspondents’ dinner attended by Donald Trump and several senior US officials on Saturday night, April 25, 2026, and ran towards the ballroom before Secret Service agents surrounded and detained him. The shooting was far from where Trump was attending and nothing untoward happened, however, the US president and his entourage were evacuated from the venue.

Cole Thomas Allen’s next court hearing is scheduled for Thursday. It will be a detention hearing, which will determine whether Allen should remain in custody until his trial.
