Philip Lazzarini, the head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), said that the winter in Gaza means that more Palestinians die due to the cold, wind and rain, and not just the successive Israeli genocide.
He added: During the past 14 months, people in Gaza have been forced to migrate and escape from death. They have lost everything and are in dire need of help; but what reaches Gaza is very little. The temperature drops and it starts to rain and there is no shelter, blankets or warm clothes for people and the only way to keep warm is to burn plastic.
Lazzarini continued: Winter in Gaza means that people will not only die from airstrikes or disease and hunger, but many will die from the cold, especially children and the elderly, who are more vulnerable.

The head of UNRWA called for a ceasefire in Gaza and emphasized that the time has come for the establishment of a ceasefire and the flow of aid, especially what is needed for the winter, to Gaza.
Meanwhile, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Center has announced that the entry of the urgent needs of the residents of Gaza, especially the needs of children, has been prevented by the Zionist regime due to the extreme cold and catastrophic humanitarian conditions.
According to the Euro-Mediterranean Center for Human Rights, the aid that goes to Gaza does not exceed 6%, most of it is food and does not include clothes and shoes, which has caused this severe crisis.
Hundreds of people in Gaza, including children, women and the elderly, are without proper clothing to protect them from the bitter winter cold, especially since most of the residents are in tents.
This center warned about the spread of dangerous diseases due to these conditions and the lack of medical attention, and pointed out that the Zionist regime prevented the arrival of blankets, heating devices and a sufficient number of tents.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Center added: The continuous and severe deprivation of the necessities of life in line with the genocide by taking few protective means and creating conditions that lead to the destruction of the Palestinians.
