PNN – Axios reported that Trump rejected two requests from the Saudi Crown Prince to target the positions of Yemeni fighters.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Axios; Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held two telephone conversations with U.S. President Donald Trump yesterday, Thursday.
The outlet reported that during these calls, the Saudi Crown Prince asked the U.S. President to launch attacks against Yemeni fighter forces, but Trump refused.
Admiral Cooper, commander of U.S. forces in the region (CENTCOM), traveled to Riyadh yesterday, Thursday, for emergency coordination.
Meanwhile, the American network CNN—citing a source described as “knowledgeable about Saudi affairs”—had previously revealed that Saudi Arabia had formulated its war plans for an attack on Yemen and informed its allies of those plans.
In August, Saudi diplomats informed U.S. senators that political communication channels with Ansarullah had collapsed, and they sought Washington’s support for the attacks.
According to the report, Saudi Arabia is also attempting to draw other nations—which had previously hesitated to join the U.S.-led coalition against Iranian aggression—into the war in Yemen.
