PNN – A politically motivated resolution against Iran, proposed by the US and three European nations, has been adopted by the Board of Governors.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Reuters TV has just reported—citing diplomats—that the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is referring Iran’s case to the UN Security Council due to the country’s violation of its obligations.
As reported by Reuters TV, this political resolution was submitted to the IAEA Board of Governors’ quarterly meeting at the behest of the US and the three European nations known as the “European Troika” (the UK, France, and Germany).
In a politically motivated and biased move—disregarding both the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program and the Zionist regime’s nuclear arsenal in the region—the US and three European countries reiterated political allegations against Tehran; they made the absurd claim that Iran had failed to cooperate adequately with the Agency or adhere to its obligations, and asserted that the matter would therefore be referred to the UN Security Council and General Assembly.
According to Al-Mayadeen, the politically motivated resolution proposed by the aforementioned countries was adopted with 23 votes in favor, 8 abstentions, and 3 votes against (Russia, China, and Niger).
This comes as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)—consistent with its core mandate—has so far failed to take any stance against the US aggression targeting Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities.
Iran’s mission to the IAEA declared that the Agency’s decision to refer Iran’s nuclear dossier to the Security Council is biased and politically motivated.
