Arab analyst: Iran shattered U.S. military pride.

PNN – A prominent Lebanese expert praised Tehran’s astute military strategy, stating that Iran had shattered America’s military hubris.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; amidst analyses by regional and international experts regarding recent developments—set against the backdrop of continued US aggression and our country’s crushing response—a prominent Lebanese expert declared that by initiating aggression against Iran, the United States has entangled itself in a war of attrition with long-lasting consequences; a conflict that depletes its resources and ammunition while increasing American human and material losses.

Brigadier General Akram Sreiwih, a Lebanese military and strategic analyst, stated in an interview with Yemen’s Al-Masirah website that the United States’ reconsideration of the military option against the Islamic Republic of Iran reflects a divergence of opinion within the U.S. administration and military establishment regarding the feasibility of continuing the conflict; indeed, numerous military commanders have warned the administration about the difficulties inherent in pursuing this course of action.

He added that senior U.S. officers grasp the realities on the ground, noting that military and financial pressures—particularly those concerning the expenditure of munitions and missiles—have become a challenge for Washington, and that the U.S. Central Command’s air defense system is currently facing a major challenge.

This Lebanese expert emphasized that US military strategy and doctrine have consistently aimed to contain the scope of attacks and bring conflicts to a swift conclusion; however, Iran’s crushing response expanded the scope of hostilities, targeting US sites and bases across several countries in the region—including Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.

Brigadier General Akram Sreiwih noted that the extensive scope of Iran’s attacks subjects US bases in the region to a severe test, calling into question Washington’s ability to continue protecting its forces and facilities amidst the ongoing depletion of defensive munitions.

He stated that in the modern era, the nature of confrontation is no longer measured merely by the possession of the most advanced weaponry, but rather by the parties’ capacity for flexibility, resilience, and war management. In this context, Iran’s smart strategy relies on imposing a war of attrition on the enemy and launching a massive volume of missiles and drones to overwhelm U.S. air defenses.

The Arab analyst stated that Iran is well aware of its enemy’s strengths and weaknesses and seeks to draw the United States into a war of attrition—a scenario where it can exert pressure on U.S. capabilities rather than engaging in a direct confrontation based on air or naval superiority.

The Lebanese expert noted that Iran has avoided direct air or naval confrontation with the United States, focusing instead on degrading the enemy’s defensive capabilities through the use of missiles and drones. This strategy has eroded U.S. defensive strength and introduced new variables into the nature of the confrontation.

He continued: One of the most glaring mistakes the U.S. made in this conflict was its “military hubris”—specifically, miscalculating the war’s duration and the likelihood of a quick victory—which has left Washington mired in a war of attrition from which it cannot extricate itself.

The Lebanese analyst concluded that while the United States might withstand certain blows, it is no longer capable of sustaining a long, grueling war against Iran. Furthermore, America’s greatest error was banking on a “Venezuela-style” scenario playing out in Iran.
