PNN – Another individual has been added to the list of Zionists arrested on charges of espionage in occupied Palestine.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; a Russian historian who had gone missing after arriving in occupied Palestine is currently being held in custody by the Zionist regime’s intelligence services.
The Zman Yisrael newspaper reported on its website that associates of a Russian historian—who holds dual Israeli citizenship—discovered, following an extensive search, that he had been arrested by Israel’s internal security service, the Shin Bet (Shabak).
According to this Hebrew-language media outlet, the Russian national—identified as Atrium Karbichonok—traveled to occupied Palestine a month ago and was arrested by the Shin Bet immediately upon arrival on charges of espionage and links to foreign intelligence services.
A resident of Russia and a known critic of Israel, he arrived in occupied Palestine on August 4 to attend a conference but was detained by Israeli security forces the moment he disembarked from the plane.
The report adds that efforts by his family and friends to establish contact with him have so far been unsuccessful.
Representatives for Karbichonok told the Russian news site Meduza that, “according to unofficial information,” the historian is under investigation on suspicion of “involvement in espionage and contact with an agent of a foreign intelligence agency.”
According to Meduza, “the charges fall under the category of serious crimes,” yet Karbichonok’s lawyer “does not know exactly what the charges against the historian are.”
The report states that the indictment against Karbichonok was scheduled to be issued today, “at which point the defense attorney would be able to access the case files.”
Israeli officials announced this morning that the State Attorney’s Office has filed an indictment against an Israeli citizen for “security offenses” linked to a “foreign influence” campaign, without providing further details.
In this regard, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that an indictment was filed today (Friday) at the Lod District Court against a Russian-Israeli national on security-related charges. Due to the nature of the charges, the court authorized the release of only limited details regarding the case.
According to the details permitted for publication, the individual had been detained for questioning by the internal security agency (Shin Bet) and the police on suspicion of committing security offenses.
According to this media outlet, his interrogation revealed that he had been recruited by foreign intelligence operatives and was involved in foreign infiltration activities. Following the interrogation, an indictment was issued against him, and a request was made for his detention pending the conclusion of legal proceedings.
The charges against the individual currently involve offenses related to Israel’s security and collaboration with foreign intelligence services against Israel.
