PNN – The editor of Rai al-Youm condemned the betrayal of the Lebanese government and said that legitimacy belongs to the resistance and is in the field with power.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Abdul Bari Atwan, editor of the trans-regional newspaper Rai al-Youm and a prominent Palestinian analyst, dedicated the new editorial of this electronic newspaper to the recent shameful agreement between the Lebanese government and the Zionist regime, writing: This is not a Lebanese-Israeli agreement, but a Zionist deception and trap, and the role of the Lebanese government is simply limited to approving it.
The aim of the shameful agreement in Washington is to declare civil war in Lebanon
Atwan added: This agreement neither stops the war nor leads to peace, but rather fuels conflicts and inflames the fire of war for a simple reason: that the Lebanese government, which signed the said agreement and claims to represent the Lebanese people, has nothing to do with the war process, and those who are involved in the war are the parties who can stop it. Also, such a dangerous agreement requires political consensus, which has not been achieved in Lebanon and will never be achieved.
The Palestinian writer stated: The convergence of the paths of Iran and Lebanon and their integration based on resistance through missiles, drones, and sacrifices is what terrified the Zionists, and the administration of US President Donald Trump, who lost the war against Iran, rushed to separate the paths of Iran and Lebanon as quickly as possible, and found the opportunity to do this in the Lebanese government; a government that lacks legitimacy within the country and derives its fake legitimacy from its allegiance to the Zionists and the Americans.
The article continues by saying that this is not a peace agreement, but a declaration of war on Lebanon and an uprising against its territorial and national unity, a direct attack on the heart of the peaceful coexistence between Lebanese citizens, plunging the country into a civil war in which the US and Israeli armies, and perhaps the army of the Syrian interim regime led by Abu Muhammad al-Julani, will join forces. The aim of this war is to destroy the Lebanese resistance, of which Hezbollah is the backbone, and which has returned to the scene stronger than ever.
The Lebanese government does not have the power to implement its shameful agreement with the Zionists
Atwan continued: Hassan Fadlallah, a Lebanese parliamentarian affiliated with the Hezbollah faction, was right to describe this agreement as a free gift to the Zionist enemy in his recent press statements. He said that we will never allow the government to implement this shameful agreement on the field and we will confront any action the government takes and we will remain committed to the resistance and our weapons more than ever. The decisive factor here is the battlefield and we control it and are the main owners of the land.
The editor of Rai Al-Youm continued: But Yehiel Leiter, the Israeli ambassador to Washington, said that through this agreement, Iran and Hezbollah are removed from the equation. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the occupation regime also said that as long as Hezbollah exists and is not completely disarmed, and as long as there is a threat to Israel, Israeli forces will not withdraw from the security zone in southern Lebanon.
The author of this note noted: Our question is, where do these people really live? On another planet? Have these Zionists not read the polls conducted by the Hebrew University, which confirm that 92 percent of Israelis believe that Iran was able to defeat the United States, and also American polls show that 86 percent of Americans believe that Iran defeated Israel. The Zionist officials who say such things do not really know Iran, Hezbollah, the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, and Ansarullah in Yemen.
The traitorous Lebanese government has no place in the equation and the power is in the hands of the resistance
The article continues by emphasizing that, in short, this is a traitorous normalization agreement signed by the Lebanese government; a government that does not and will not rule in a geographical region called West Asia. After the recent war, all political and military equations in the region will change in line with the resistance project, and America and Israel will no longer be the final decision-makers.
Atwan emphasized: We say for the thousandth time that the Lebanese resistance has already defeated the Zionists twice with humiliation; first in 2000 and the liberation of all Lebanese territory, and then in July 2006, which destroyed the legend of the invincible Israeli army forever. This resistance still exists and is becoming stronger and smarter, and is supported by a powerful Islamic country, Iran, and allied fronts that do not recognize humiliation and surrender.
The article concludes: Here we call on the Lebanese resistance to leave this traitorous government that committed this great sin and signed this shameful agreement with the Zionists, because staying in this government, even for a second, is not tolerable for the resistance. Legitimacy belongs to the resistance and its heroes, not to those who sign the agreement of betrayal and normalization with the Zionist enemy.
