PNN – Bahrain’s “Al-Wafa al-Islami” movement has issued a statement calling for widespread participation in a symbolic funeral procession for the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution in Bahrain.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the “Al-Wafa al-Islami” movement invited the people of Bahrain to participate in ceremonies marking the symbolic funeral procession for the “Imam of the Oppressed,” Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The movement announced on its X (formerly Twitter) account that these events, held under the banner “Rise Up for the Sake of God,” are scheduled to take place across various locations in Bahrain from July 4 to July 9, 2026.
In this regard, “Iman Attarzadeh,” spokesperson for the funeral headquarters of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, announced last Monday: The farewell and funeral ceremony for the martyred leader of the Revolution will be held on Wednesday, July 8, in the cities of Najaf and Karbala.
He added: Preparations for the funeral of the martyred leader had been made since the first days of his martyrdom, and due to the conditions of war and the brutal invasion of our country by the American-Zionist enemy, and considering that preserving the health, security, and safety of the people was the top priority for the House of Representatives and those involved in holding this ceremony, the time for holding the funeral of our martyred leader was postponed.
Sardar Karami Assad, head of the Farajah Traffic Police, also referred to the estimates made about the level of citizen participation in the ceremony and stated: Reports indicate that between 30 and 35 percent of the country’s population will attend the ceremony. The mayor of Tehran has also predicted that 15 to 20 million people will attend the capital, and the governor of Khorasan Razavi has announced that between eight and 10 million people are prepared to attend the funeral and burial of the martyred leader of the nation.
He added: In addition to compatriots, pilgrims and delegations from Iraq, Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan and some other countries in the region have also announced their readiness to attend the ceremony.
Traffic Police Chief Faraja also said about the police’s operational estimates: A minimum of 6 million and a maximum of 17 million people are expected to attend in Tehran. Also, the attendance in the holy city of Mashhad is estimated to be between 3.5 and eight million people, and in the city of Qom, between three and five million people.
