PNN – Baku announced: Israel’s use of Azerbaijani territory against Iran is fabricated, CNN must deny and apologize.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced in a statement referring to the CNN report on the presence of Israeli military forces on the territory of the country during the war against Iran: On June 5, CNN, citing its fabricated sources, published a report in which it claimed that the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan was used during the Israeli war with Iran.
The statement said: We consider the publication of blatantly false information by a world-renowned transnational media company, without citing any evidence, to be a clear and targeted manipulation of information.
By publishing false information, CNN has not only disregarded the values of media ethics and professional journalistic principles, including maintaining balance in the news, but has also acted as a propaganda tool for hybrid warfare by tarnishing its own reputation.
The false information published by CNN is a provocative act against Azerbaijan and regional security in general. In addition to creating confusion in international public opinion, the publication of this information is aimed at harming regional stability and relations between countries and creating tension in the region.
It has been repeatedly stated at the highest official level that the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan will not be used against the Islamic Republic of Iran under any circumstances, and such fabricated and biased information is a clear manipulation of information.
We call on CNN, which threatens regional security and tries to confuse public opinion by publishing information that contradicts the principles of media ethics and journalistic professionalism, to issue a rebuttal and apologize to Azerbaijan.
The spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry also announced in a statement: The allegations that the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan has allegedly been used for military or intelligence operations against Iran, and that Israeli forces have been deployed on the territory of Azerbaijan, are completely unfounded and we categorically reject these claims.
