Baqaei: The exchange of messages between Iran and the US continues, but the understanding has not been finalized

finalized

PNN – The Foreign Ministry spokesman of Iran, appearing on the “Iran Time” program of the Khabar network, in response to a question about the latest status of the Iran-US negotiations, said: The exchange of messages is of course continuing, but the understanding has not been finalized.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Ismail Baghaei, in response to a question about the latest statements of the US President, said: We said goodbye to the language of “should” 47 years ago. None of the Western parties can speak in the language of “should” when talking about the Islamic Republic of Iran. We make our own decisions based on the interests and rights of the Iranian people.

He continued: What the Americans call a “maritime blockade” was an illegal action from the beginning; it was both a violation of the ceasefire and an obstruction of international freedom of navigation. We need to see in practice whether they will actually act on their words or is it just a propaganda claim? If they do this, it will actually mean stopping the wrongdoing they started a few weeks ago and they should not have committed such an action from the beginning.

Baghaei added: Regarding the understanding, as far as I am at your service, the exchange of messages is of course continuing, but the understanding has not been finalized.

The Strait of Hormuz is closed to hostile ships and military vessels

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson continued, in response to a question referring to the US President’s remarks about the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, saying: Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the American side has been distorting the reality from the beginning. Since February 28, after the illegal and aggressive attack by the US and the Zionist regime against Iran, the Strait of Hormuz has been subject to special measures by Iran as a coastal state.

He added: The Strait of Hormuz is closed to hostile ships and military vessels. However, during this time, commercial ships have been traveling through this route with the coordination of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Regarding the future management of the Strait of Hormuz, it is a matter that concerns the coastal states of the Strait, namely Iran and Oman.

Baghaei noted: Just today, Dr. Araghchi and his counterpart, Omani Foreign Minister Mr. Busaidi, had a telephone conversation, and one of the topics they discussed was this issue. Iran and Oman have adopted a very responsible approach to safety and security in the Strait of Hormuz, and they intend to adopt mechanisms to ensure the safe passage of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, both in order to preserve their own security and national interests and in the interests of the international community.

Pointing out that the Strait of Hormuz is located within the territorial waters of Iran and Oman, he said: We are faced with a special situation that we cannot ignore this experience. Certainly, Iran and Oman, as two responsible countries, must adopt mechanisms that both protect their own interests and national security as coastal countries and assure the international community that shipping through this route is carried out safely. This is obvious.

In response to a question about the nuclear issues being raised in the negotiations, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said: At this stage, our focus is on ending the war. We are not discussing the details of the discussions related to enrichment or the issue of Iran’s enriched uranium at this stage.

The US President claimed in his message on the “Truth Social” network an hour ago: Iran must agree that it will never have a nuclear weapon or bomb. The Strait of Hormuz must be opened immediately and without any fees to unlimited ship traffic in both directions.

Trump claimed: All water mines (bombs), if any, will be destroyed (we have detonated a large number of these mines with our large underwater minesweepers. Iran will immediately complete the clearance or detonation of any remaining mines, which will not be many!). Ships that were stopped in the Strait due to our unprecedented and extraordinary naval blockade, which will now be lifted, can begin the process of “coming home”! From me, your beloved President, greet your wives, husbands, parents, and families!

He claimed that the enriched material, sometimes referred to as “nuclear dust,” buried deep beneath mountains that nearly collapsed after a powerful strike by our B-2 bombers 11 months ago, will be extracted by the United States. (According to the agreement, the United States, along with China, are the only countries with the technical and mechanical capability to do so.) This will be done in close coordination and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the material will be destroyed.

The US president also claimed: Until further notice, no money will be exchanged.
