Barzani requests clarification from the US: Where are the weapons being sent?

PNN – The Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region Masrour Barzani, declaring ignorance of the fate of the weapons sent by the United States to Kurdish groups, called on Washington to provide transparent information about the identities of the recipients of these shipments and their details.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, announced that the Kurdistan Regional Government does not have any information about the arms shipments that the United States is said to have delivered to Kurdish movements.

According to Middle East News, Barzani emphasized: Any party that has received these weapons, if it exists, must communicate the matter transparently to the public.

Barzani pointed out that this question should be asked directly to the US government, noting that Washington is the only party that can determine who received these possible weapons shipments.

He said: We, as the Kurdistan Regional Government, declare that we are completely unaware of this issue and any party that received these weapons must disclose it publicly.

These statements follow Barzani’s recent visit to Baghdad and the repeated controversies surrounding US President Donald Trump’s claims that weapons were sent to the Kurds during past protests inside Iran and made available to the protesters, while this has been repeatedly denied by the main Kurdish parties, including the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

At the same time, Kurdish opposition movements and Iranian Kurdish parties have also denied any receipt of these weapons.

This is while President Trump’s claims have sparked a wave of widespread political controversy inside and outside Iraq due to their vagueness and lack of clarity about the target groups.
