PNN – An informed military source told about a violent confrontation aboard the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the source reported that following widespread protests by the families of the Abraham Lincoln crew—who have been on deployment for 359 days—an aide to Vice Admiral Brad Cooper (commander of US Central Command/CENTCOM in the region) arrived on the ship to defuse the tense atmosphere. While addressing a group of personnel, the aide was heckled by the crew, who protested and threw water bottles at him.
This incident led to a clash involving knives and other edged weapons among the staff and crew; seven crew members were killed and a larger number were injured, and the situation aboard the vessel remains tense and volatile.
The primary mission of this vessel, currently stationed in the Indian Ocean, is to enforce a naval blockade of Iran.
The ship’s crew is complaining about meager rations—consisting of just half a cup of rice and two pieces of meat—as well as a two-week laundry shutdown and moldy shower facilities that have caused fungal infections among the personnel; CENTCOM command has offered no explanation.
In a similar incident aboard the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford on March 12, 2026, the living quarters of 600 crew members caught fire, resulting in injuries to 200 of them.
After offloading the injured at a naval base on the Greek island of Crete, the Gerald R. Ford was forced to return to the United States and undergo repairs until the following spring.
