Mourners shed tears upon seeing the coffin of the martyred leader of the Ummah, Ayatollah Khamenei, and some chanted: We have but one message: Revenge! Revenge!
Others held flags and placards, while city billboards were adorned with the image of the “martyred” Ayatollah Khamenei.
Masoumeh Mohammadi, one of the mourners, said: Imam Khamenei—may God Almighty be pleased with him—was our heart, our father, and our everything. I still cannot believe they martyred him. We will not rest until we avenge his blood.
Ali Kazemi, who had traveled from Tabriz to Tehran, said: We took part in the farewell ceremony to show that we are all committed to defending our country and our faith.
Hananeh Mousavi, who attended the funeral procession with her mother, said tearfully: I am here to bid farewell to my beloved leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. I never expected to see a day like this. I wish I had died before this tragedy occurred.
