PNN – A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce strongly criticized the sanctions imposed on Chinese companies and individuals over alleged issues related to Iran and called on Washington to lift these sanctions immediately.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing the Global Times, the spokesperson stated at a press conference on Thursday that China deeply regrets and firmly opposes the sanctions imposed on Chinese entities and individuals regarding alleged Iran-related issues.
While outlining Beijing’s position on the matter, the Chinese official urged the United States to immediately revoke the sanctions.
A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce emphasized that unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States unduly interfere with normal economic and trade exchanges between the relevant countries and seriously disrupt global energy security and stable supplies.
The spokesperson stated: China urges the U.S. to immediately rectify its wrong practices and lift the sanctions against the relevant Chinese companies and individuals.
The Chinese official noted that the country would firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its companies and citizens.
