PNN – CNN reported on Wednesday (local time) that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, currently in Washington, D.C., met with J.D. Vance—the U.S. Vice President and head of the American negotiating team regarding Iran—amidst ongoing tensions and negotiations with Tehran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; CNN reported on Wednesday (local time), citing an Israeli official that Netanyahu met with U.S. vice President-elect JD Vance on Tuesday evening at Blair House—the official U.S. government guest residence—in Washington.
CNA added, citing the same official, that Netanyahu is also holding separate talks on Wednesday with Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of Defense.
In recent months, Vance has publicly and sharply criticized the Israeli regime—as well as members of its cabinet who have sought to derail negotiations with Iran and turn American public opinion against those talks.
Trump’s deputy had warned the Israeli regime that it was alienating the only powerful ally (the U.S.) it had left.
Vance’s meeting with Netanyahu took place following a broader meeting in the White House Oval Office between Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump.
In addition to Vance and Hegseth, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff also participated in that meeting.
Netanyahu described the Oval Office meeting as “excellent,” claiming: This was one of the best conversations I have ever had with a U.S. president.
He emphasized the “full partnership and mutual support” between Tel Aviv and Washington, asserting that both sides share a consensus on the goal of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, as well as on pursuing other objectives that have been raised.
Trump also described the meeting as “very good,” stating, “Obviously, many important issues were discussed during this meeting.”
This marks the Israeli Prime Minister’s eighth visit to the United States in the past year and a half and his first since the second act of aggression against Iran.
Before traveling to Washington, he convened an emergency meeting of his security-political cabinet to review the latest security developments—particularly regarding Iran—and subsequently made a secret trip to the United States.
A White House official announced prior to the meeting that, during his talks with Netanyahu, Trump would discuss potential aggression against Iran, progress in negotiations with Lebanon, and efforts to expand the normalization agreements with Israel known as the Abraham Accords.
