PNN – In response to the depletion of interceptor missiles, U.S. lawmaker Ted Lieu stated that this issue revealed an “imbalance” vis-à-vis Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives wrote on the social media platform X on Thursday night: “The Pentagon constantly conducts war games. How could it fail to notice that U.S. ammunition was running out?”
The California representative added: Before the war, the U.S. possessed approximately 452 THAAD systems and 2,700 Patriot missiles. Iran had around 3,000 ballistic missiles and over 50,000 drones. The imbalance was glaringly obvious.
This criticism and admission come as CNN reported that the US military has expended approximately 80 percent of its key interceptor missiles in the war against Iran.
According to two informed sources, the US military has used nearly four-fifths of its THAAD missile inventory and roughly half of its Patriot interceptor missiles since the war began.
An informed official stated that the US military has also utilized “almost all” of its highly precise long-range, surface-to-air weapons during this conflict.
Reuters also reported that the United States has exhausted nearly all of its precision long-range missiles during its acts of aggression against Iran.
