PNN – The stated objective of the trilateral agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan is to strengthen collective deterrence against all forms of aggression.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed a joint defense agreement on Friday.
A statement issued in this regard reads: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have signed a joint defense agreement. This agreement reflects their shared resolve to further strengthen collective security; promote peace, security, and stability in the region and beyond; and build a secure and prosperous future together—grounded in deep historical ties, profound bonds of brotherhood and Islamic solidarity, shared strategic interests, and long-standing defense cooperation among the three nations.
The aim of this agreement is to strengthen collective deterrence against all forms of aggression, stipulating that an armed attack on any of the three nations is considered an attack on all of them.
The agreement also envisions the development of defense cooperation among the three countries across all dimensions.
Furthermore, according to a report by Anadolu Agency, the Mecca Agreement represents a defense-focused partnership aimed at reinforcing commitments to uphold regional and global peace, stability, and prosperity—based on burden-sharing and a shared understanding of security—without targeting any specific country.
This agreement, aimed at strengthening collective deterrence against any act of aggression, stipulates that any armed attack against any of the three nations will be considered an attack against all of them.
The Mecca Agreement is viewed as a tangible outcome of long-standing diplomatic efforts—guided by the principle of regional ownership—aimed at establishing common ground to combat escalating regional and international security threats.
This agreement constitutes a defense-focused arrangement designed to foster cooperation in the defense industry and enhance military interoperability, while also committing the three nations to supporting one another’s security.
