PNN – The former Chief of General Staff of the Israeli army acknowledged that overthrowing the regime in Iran is not an achievable goal and that setting such an objective was a mistake from the start.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Rai al-Youm; the former Chief of General Staff of the Israeli army admitted that toppling the regime in Iran is not an achievable goal, and setting such an objective for recent operations was a mistake.

Speaking in an interview with the occupation army’s radio station, Gadi Eisenkot added: It would certainly be desirable for the regime in Iran to fall, but we must avoid making regime change our goal, as it is important to set realistic and achievable objectives.

Eisenkot also claimed that regime change must come from within the Iranian people.

In a brazen statement, he endorsed the assassination of Iran’s martyred leader by the occupying army, asserting that the killing was a correct and justified act.

These remarks by the Zionist official come after Netanyahu—following the outbreak of the war waged by the US and the Israeli regime against Iran—had declared his desire to see the Iranian regime overthrown.

Netanyahu had claimed that the Israeli regime was creating conditions to enable the Iranian people to topple the regime; however, he had acknowledged that achieving this goal was not certain and depended on the Iranians themselves.
