Emile Lahoud: Betting on Israeli atrocities to force the Resistance to surrender is a delusion.

PNN – The former Lebanese president Emile Lahoud described the government’s stance regarding Israel’s crimes as deplorable and stated that the resistance would never surrender.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; former Lebanese President Emile Lahoud—who has a distinguished record of supporting the resistance against the Zionist occupiers—issued a statement condemning the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime against the Lebanese people, including yesterday’s bloody attack that left dozens of civilians dead or wounded. He stated: I offer my condolences to the families of the martyrs killed in Deir al-Zahrani and Ansar by Israel’s war machine—amidst the silence of the so-called ‘free world,’ and particularly the United States, which appears to regard the killing of children as a crime against humanity only when it occurs on its own soil or within Israel.

Expressing deep regret over the Lebanese government’s direct negotiations and normalization with the criminal Zionist regime, Emile Lahoud stated: It is shameful that the Lebanese government offered such a superficial and minimal response to these savage crimes committed by Israel.

He added: These heinous crimes by the enemy necessitate practical steps from the government. As a first measure, the Lebanese government must reconsider its approach regarding negotiations with the murderous, criminal Israeli regime and its silence in the face of that regime’s atrocities—particularly since such silence gives the enemy a green light to act with impunity, without any reaction from Lebanon.

The former Lebanese president emphasized: We may hold differing views on domestic policy, but unity is essential when facing situations like this; otherwise, a national rift could emerge that would be difficult to mend.

Lahoud stated: The Lebanese government should utilize the Resistance—at the very least—as leverage against the criminal Israeli enemy, rather than seeking to dismantle it.

He concluded by saying: Anyone betting that these atrocities by the Israeli enemy will break the back of the Resistance and its supporters is sorely mistaken, and time will prove this. We hope that all Lebanese people will unite behind the Resistance, rather than taking up positions in the enemy’s camp to settle domestic scores.
