PNN – Emphasizing Ankara’s support for the Palestinians, the Turkish President stated that a war criminal must be held accountable before justice and history.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Anadolu; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Saturday at the closing ceremony of the 21st International Trade Fair (Expo) and the 29th International Business Forum in Istanbul: War criminals do not belong in the halls of the United Nations; rather, they belong in courts where they must answer for the crimes they have committed and the blood they have shed.
He warned that if the perpetrators of genocide are not held accountable before justice and history, the same crimes will be repeated.
Emphasizing Turkey’s support for the Palestinian people, Erdoğan stated: The Palestinian people are not alone or abandoned. He added that the people of Gaza are also not alone in their pursuit of rights and justice, and that Ankara will continue to speak the truth and defend the oppressed to the best of its ability.
The Turkish President also addressed the situation in Gaza and Lebanon, stressing that Ankara would not back down in the face of pressure; he affirmed that the country would continue to speak the truth, even if doing so displeased those uncomfortable with Turkey’s outspoken stance.
In another part of his remarks, Erdoğan stated that the region where Turkey is centrally located is facing a “perfect storm of crises,” and that the global system has reached an impasse regarding legitimacy, representation, and justice.
