PNN – The Turkish President has stated that the joint Mecca defense pact is not directed against Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized that the joint Mecca defense agreement should not be viewed as an alliance against Iran, Israel, or any other third party.
Speaking to Newsweek, Erdoğan stated that the agreement reflects the “shared responsibility” of Turkey and Saudi Arabia to build a more secure, peaceful, and prosperous future for the region.
The Turkish President also stated that Ankara has long maintained the position that regional issues and challenges should be resolved by the countries of the region through cooperation among themselves.
According to Erdoğan, the aim of this defense cooperation is to strengthen security, enhance deterrence capabilities, and consolidate lasting stability in the region.
He emphasized that this agreement was not formed with the intention of targeting any specific country and should be viewed within the framework of a joint effort to bolster regional security and stability.
