PNN – The Iraqi government has announced the date for the final and definitive withdrawal of US military forces—described as a “terrorist army”—from the country’s territory.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Iraq’s Ministerial Council for National Security convened under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh al-Zaidi.
The Council emphasized the importance of taking measures to safeguard Iraq’s supreme interests and consolidate the foundations of peace and stability.
Iraq’s Ministerial Council for National Security also announced September 30 as the date for the final withdrawal of U.S. military forces—operating under the so-called international coalition mission—stressing that this is a final and unchangeable deadline.
During the meeting, Al-Zaidi emphasized the implementation of high-level security plans, the preservation of domestic stability, and the safeguarding of national sovereignty.
US Withdrawal from Iraq to Be Completed by September 30
In this regard, the Associated Press reported, citing a US official that the United States expects to complete its withdrawal from Iraq by September 30.
According to the official, Iraqi security forces—including the Peshmerga and the security forces of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq—will lead the fight against terrorists.
