PNN – Citing a former senior U.S. official, a Hebrew media outlet acknowledged that Israel would face a worse situation without U.S. support.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the newspaper Maariv reported that Colonel Douglas Macgregor—a former high-ranking U.S. official who also served as an advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Defense—believes Israel itself is the primary cause of the current situation in the region.
The report continues by noting that Colonel Douglas Macgregor—a former military official who served as an advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Defense and is now known for his anti-Israel stance—describes a harsh and grim reality regarding Israel’s future and U.S. involvement in the Middle East.
In a candid interview with the YouTube channel of Glenn Diesen, a Norwegian professor and analyst, Macgregor sharply criticized Israel’s conduct and stated that Washington effectively acts as Tel Aviv’s military arm; he also warned that an economic collapse in the United States could bring an end to the U.S. presence in the region.
Another part of the report states: Macgregor leveled harsh criticism at Israel’s security approach, explicitly saying: You cannot tell everyone around you in the region that they are subhuman and that the most important thing they can do for you is to die. That is effectively what the Israelis are telling people. This is Jewish supremacy in the ugliest sense of the word. Under such circumstances, finding new allies in the region is extremely difficult.
He states that countries cooperating with Israel now face a different kind of danger.
In this regard, he explained: Tens of millions of Arabs, as well as Turks and Iranians, have realized that these individuals are betraying the interests of Islam.
Macgregor emphasizes that Israel’s strategy of creating a vast security zone at the expense of other nations has suffered a severe failure. He adds: They imagined that by occupying more of the surrounding territories, they would be safer. That plan did not work, and I do not believe it ever will.
By Maariv’s own admission, this American colonel does not appear particularly optimistic about Israel’s future—especially if the United States is forced to withdraw from the Middle East.
He warns: If we pull out, Israel will most likely soon follow suit (and be eliminated from the region).
McGregor points to a trend already underway in which many Israelis are migrating to Cyprus. Friends there contacted me and said that a large part of the island is being bought up by wealthy Israelis. Properties there are being sold at such a rate that the Cypriots are deeply unhappy. I have also been told that central Athens, as well as Belgrade, is increasingly being purchased by Israelis relocating there. This does nothing to enhance security in Israel.
