PNN – A Zionist media outlet Globes wrote that the war against Iran has caused an economic recession in the occupied territories and a four percent contraction in the Zionist economy.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Zionist newspaper Globes, in a report titled “Israeli Economy Stuck in Recession Due to War with Iran,” wrote: According to the initial estimate of the Central Bureau of Statistics of Israel, the economy (of this regime) shrank by 3.3 percent annually in the first quarter of 2026 and decreased by 0.8 percent in quarterly comparison. This sharp decline, after two quarters of economic growth, is assessed to be mainly due to the consequences of the war with Iran in March and April.

Globus added: One of the most worrying indicators is the 4.5% annual decline in GDP per capita compared to the last quarter of 2025, an indicator that reflects the real level of well-being and standard of living.

The Zionist media wrote: The data indicate that the economic recovery will stop in the second half of 2025. Commercial sector output, which is a measure of real private sector activity, fell by 3.1% annually in the first quarter of 2026, while it had grown by 5.4% in the last quarter of 2025.

Globes added: Private sector spending also fell by 4.7 percent, and household current spending, including food, housing, fuel and electricity, fell by 10.1 percent. Public consumption spending also fell by 4.8 percent, mainly due to a 26.8 percent drop in civilian spending. In contrast, military spending increased by 9 percent due to the war.

The Zionist media wrote: Economists believe that there is a possibility of a relative recovery of the Israeli economy in the second quarter, but the extent of this will depend on the continuation or cessation of the conflict with Iran and the speed of the return to normal conditions.
