PNN – A Hezbollah representative in the Lebanese parliament declared the framework agreement null and illegal, reiterating the group’s opposition to direct negotiations with Israel.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Ibrahim al-Mousawi—a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc affiliated with Lebanon’s Hezbollah—stated in an interview with Al Jazeera: We oppose the framework agreement [with Israel] because we consider it null, illegal, and based on an invalid premise; furthermore, we are opposed to direct negotiations with Israel.
The Hezbollah representative added: Lebanon has come entirely under US tutelage; the framework agreement consists solely of dictates, with no mention whatsoever of Lebanon’s interests.
Al-Mousawi continued: Lebanese officials must not exacerbate internal divisions.
He also stated: The ruling authorities in Lebanon have entangled themselves and the country in direct negotiations with the enemy, and we will be compelled to respond to the actions taken by the Lebanese government.
The Hezbollah representative remarked: Anyone who truly seeks Lebanon’s best interests should capitalize on the Islamabad talks between Iran and the United States.
In conclusion, he emphasized: Decision-making in Lebanon must not result in placing the country’s interests in the hands of the United States and Israel. The Lebanese government has already made concessions and must not surrender any further national rights.
