PNN – In a statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry called on regional countries to prevent the United States from exploiting their territories.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement strongly condemning the aggression carried out last night by the terrorist US military against areas of the country.
The text of the statement is as follows:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns in the strongest terms the aggressive actions taken by the United States against our beloved homeland on the evening of Tuesday, September 1, and reaffirms the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to resolutely defend its independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The US regime, driven to desperation by the Iranian nation’s iron resolve to defend the country’s sovereignty, once again violated Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity on the evening of Tuesday, September 1, 2026. It launched attacks on several civilian areas and utility infrastructures—including telecommunications towers and sites—in the provinces of Khuzestan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, and Kerman, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of a number of our compatriots and causing damage to public and private property.
In an attack by the American enemy on a wedding ceremony in Kuhestak—located in Sirik County, Hormozgan Province—more than 70 of our compatriots were martyred or wounded, the majority of whom were women and children. These barbaric war crimes, which constitute a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles of international law, are reminiscent of previous American-Zionist atrocities committed over the past year and a half, including those in Minab and Lamerd.
In response to the US military aggression, and exercising the inherent right to legitimate self-defense, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran launched crushing defensive strikes against the US military bases that had served as the launching points and support hubs for the aggression against Iran.
The Islamic Republic of Iran emphatically calls upon regional nations to prevent US aggressors from utilizing their facilities and territories to prepare for or carry out acts of aggression against Iran; they must act to halt the spread and escalation of the flames of war in the region and ensure that the sinister US-Zionist plot to impose perpetual insecurity upon the region does not come to fruition.
While extending condolences on the martyrdom of our dear compatriots, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the obligation of all governments to prosecute, try, and punish the perpetrators and those who ordered the commission of grave violations of international humanitarian law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again recalls the responsibility of the United Nations—particularly the Security Council and the Secretary-General—to discharge their duties in accordance with the UN Charter. The silence and inaction of UN bodies regarding the persistent violation of the Charter’s fundamental principles and rules—specifically Article 2(4)—by a permanent member of the Security Council will further undermine the Organization’s standing and pose a growing threat to international peace and security.
