PNN – Iran’s mission issued a statement responding to the alleged triggering of the “snapback” mechanism.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations responded to the alleged activation of the snapback mechanism.
The statement from the Iranian mission reads: The alleged triggering of the “snapback” mechanism by the European Troika has never been legally valid, given their extensive failure to comply with the JCPOA and Resolution 2231.
The statement adds: With the expiration of Resolution 2231 on October 18, 2025, all nuclear-related provisions, measures, and restrictions will permanently terminate, and there is no legal basis for the alleged activities of the 1373 Committee.
The statement by the Iranian mission concludes: Security Council procedures must serve international peace and security, rather than acting as a tool for advancing political accusations or a cover for illegal actions.
