PNN – The IRIB News Agency reported that the meeting between Araghchi and Witkoff on the sidelines of the General Assembly took place at the insistence of the U.S. representative.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; IRIB confirmed the meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Steve Witkoff—Trump’s special envoy—on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. The report stated that the meeting was held to convey Iran’s conditions for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, following the acceptance of Witkoff’s request for the encounter.
The report further noted that Iran’s firm positions were conveyed to the U.S. representative during the meeting.
According to the report, the immediate lifting of the naval blockade, the immediate release of all of Iran’s frozen assets, and an end to the war across all “Resistance” fronts are among Iran’s conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Donald Trump, the head of the US terrorist administration, stated on the sidelines of a meeting with the British Prime Minister in New York that Iranian and American delegations had held talks.
In a theatrical move ahead of the midterm elections, he claimed: I think we will reach an agreement with Iran.
Subsequently, during a separate meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump reiterated the claim regarding talks with Iran, stating that a three-hour discussion had taken place in New York between Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Iranian officials. He described these talks as excellent.
