PNN – The Israeli security cabinet convened last night to review the regional situation and address potential escalations stemming from a possible resumption of war.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al Jazeera; Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the security cabinet meeting to assess the region’s security situation.
Israeli media sources reported that the meeting was held following threats made by U.S. President Donald Trump against Iran and amidst assessments by senior Israeli officials regarding the likelihood of a war with Iran resuming in the near future.
During his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York, Trump claimed he expects to reach an agreement with Iran following the U.S. midterm elections in November. Continuing his baseless threats against Iran, he stated that he faces a “major decision”: whether to strive for a deal with Iran or seek its destruction.
Israel’s Channel 13, citing a senior Israeli officer, reported that the Israeli military is preparing for three scenarios:
First: Countering a missile attack on the occupied territories.
Second: Launching a new joint military operation against Iran with U.S. support.
And third: A unilateral attack on Iran by the Zionist regime’s army.
Israel Katz, the Israeli regime’s war minister, had previously threatened to target Iran’s infrastructure and energy facilities if Tehran launched an attack against Israel.
The United States and the Israeli regime engaged in hostilities against Iran on February 28, and Tehran responded with massive attacks on the occupied territories and U.S. bases in the region.
