Jumblatt’s firm response to the US ambassador’s rhetoric: The framework agreement is completely rejected.

PNN – In response to the rhetoric of the US ambassador, the leader of Lebanon’s Druze community stated: I firmly oppose the agreement between the Lebanese government and Israel.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Walid Jumblatt—former head of the Progressive Socialist Party and leader of the country’s Druze community—has repeatedly voiced his opposition to the so-called “framework agreement” between the Lebanese government and the Zionist regime since its signing. Jumblatt, who has adopted rational, nationalist stances in support of the Resistance and the struggle against the occupiers—and who warned repeatedly during the last two wars about Zionist plots to incite strife and internal chaos in Lebanon—has emphasized that the agreement in question is entirely one-sided and serves the enemy’s interests.

In recent remarks responding to the rhetoric of US Ambassador to Lebanon Michele Sison—who had claimed that he was shifting his stance—Walid Jumblatt stated sarcastically: It seems that the US Ambassador, amidst her various cultural and political activities, has failed to read my views regarding the document known as the ‘Tripartite Framework’.

The leader of Lebanon’s Druze community emphasized: I completely reject this agreement document and have repeatedly stated that it should be replaced by the ceasefire arrangements outlined in the Taif Agreement and UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Previously, during a meeting with Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Muna—the spiritual leader (Sheikh al-Aql) of the Druze community—the U.S. Ambassador remarked that Walid Jumblatt’s stance has been inconsistent; he sometimes supports the framework agreement and at other times opposes it, yet engagement with him continues.

However, Jumblatt has repeatedly rejected the Lebanese government’s shameful agreement with the Zionists, emphasizing that the government has no room for maneuver unless the United States compels the Israelis to withdraw from southern Lebanon and genuinely commit to a ceasefire—a prospect that is nothing more than wishful thinking.

This prominent Lebanese politician also remarked that a striking aspect of this trilateral agreement among Lebanon, Israel, and the United States—which is entirely one-sided in both form and substance—is the absence of a clause for a comprehensive and definitive ceasefire.

A few weeks ago, in an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde, Walid Jumblatt stated that Israel is employing the same criminal tactics in Lebanon that it used in Gaza, systematically destroying Lebanese villages, displacing nearly a million Lebanese people, and razing close to 60 villages to the ground.

Regarding internal maneuvers and plots—particularly those orchestrated by the Lebanese government and factions aligned with the American-Zionist enemy—aimed at disarming Hezbollah, he stated that there is only one armed force in Lebanon: Hezbollah. Who, then, would be willing to fight this movement?

This Lebanese Druze politician emphasized that even the army would never confront Hezbollah, noting that a large number of Lebanese Army soldiers are Shiites. Is it conceivable, then, that Shiite soldiers would take up arms against Hezbollah at the behest of Israel and the United States? It is impossible.
