PNN – Speaking at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, the King of Jordan stated: When it comes to Israel, international resolutions are merely ink on paper.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al Jazeera; King Abdullah II of Jordan said in his address to the UN General Assembly: The challenges we face today did not arise overnight, and what we ignore today will shape our future.
He added: The war involving Iran demonstrated the extent to which people outside the region have been affected by the consequences of energy and food crises. Conflicts ranging from Lebanon to Yemen and Sudan are deepening human suffering.
The King of Jordan emphasized: Anyone who doubts that the crises in our region have global repercussions need only look at energy and food costs.
He stated: Accountability begins when we call things by their true names—such as the attempt to erase the Palestinian presence and impose a new reality in Gaza. The forced expulsion of Palestinians from their homes in the West Bank constitutes forced displacement.
He added: Instead of resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the international community merely manages it. The international community has treated every new act of aggression and violation by Israel as a temporary issue. The aggressors in the West Bank are not merely a handful of troublemakers; rather, they are part of a policy aimed at driving Palestinians off their land.
He stated that efforts to erase the Palestinian presence are being pursued in two ways: the destruction of Gaza and the de facto annexation of West Bank territories. Israel is displeased with the scrutiny of its actions, and attempts to divert attention are no longer effective. When it comes to Israel, international resolutions are merely ink on paper. The international community continues to overlook Israel’s acts of aggression in Syria, effectively giving it the green light to persist. Israel’s goal is to make the establishment of a Palestinian state impossible.
The King of Jordan declared: Any threat to Jordan’s northern borders or its water security is a threat to its national security, and we will not ignore it.
