Maariv: The Saudi regime faces a fate similar to that of Iran’s ousted Shah.

PNN – The Zionist newspaper Maariv reported that intelligence agencies are pointing to a growing likelihood of the House of Saud’s collapse.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Maariv—citing the views of Scott Ritter, a former U.S. Marine Corps intelligence officer and former UN weapons inspector—emphasizes that the House of Saud is rapidly heading toward the precipice and facing a fate similar to that of the Shah of Iran in 1979.

Another section of the report emphasizes that the current situation in Saudi Arabia can be compared to the sudden fall of the Shah in Iran in 1979: The United States viewed Iran as a key pivot for containing the Soviet Union and, consequently, sold it advanced fighter jets and modern warships. Yet, within just two years, the situation in the Middle East was upended, and the Shah was overthrown. Today, given the prevailing reality, people recognize the inevitability of this collapse—precisely what historians will come to record as the imminent fall of the House of Saud.

Maariv concludes: To uncover the roots of the current system’s fragility, Ritter’s analysis traces back to the country’s historical origins and the historic pact signed between the House of Saud and the cleric Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. This alliance was a “deal with the devil,” in which “the political fate of the House of Saud became inextricably linked to Wahhabism—a dangerous deviation that sought to drag Arab and Islamic society backward.”
