PNN – The results of a CBS poll show that majority of Americans believes that war with Iran has no acceptable results and is not justifiable compared to its financial and human costs.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; a poll on Sunday showed that Americans want an end to the war with Iran, and few believe the United States has won the deal. According to CBS News, Americans want the war with Iran to end, especially those who have been hit by rising gas prices and many are now hoping for lower prices.
But the end of the war now also comes with a view that the United States has failed to secure strategic or economic benefits, with 69% of Americans believing that attacking Iran was not worth the cost.
In particular, most Americans believe that Iran’s nuclear program has not been permanently halted. Many Republicans, including Donald Trump’s supporters, are not convinced. Accordingly, 78% of Americans want an immediate end to the conflict with Iran, and 69% believe that the United States has not permanently halted Iran’s nuclear program.
Americans are also not convinced that the Trump administration feels it has achieved its goals, but rather that the administration is now seeking to end the war rather than achieving its goals. Furthermore, only 22% of Americans believe that the memorandum of understanding is in America’s best interests.
Many Americans do not even consider military operations against Iran to be successful, with only 37% believing that the military campaign was a success.
This figure is only 29% in terms of securing America’s strategic interests through war, and 28% in terms of economic interests. 57% of Americans believe that the conflict with Iran has created more problems than it has solved.
The CBS News/YouGov poll of 2,519 American adults was conducted between June 17 and 19, 2026. So far, several American politicians and analysts have expressed their opposition to military aggression against Iran. Experts have warned about the possibility of a resumption of war, citing the economic consequences of this conflict for the United States.
