PNN – Oman’s Foreign Minister stated that a “temporary shipping corridor” in the Strait of Hormuz would soon be announced in coordination with Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi announced progress in talks regarding the security of vital waterways following a meeting with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Describing the talks with his Iranian counterpart as “constructive,” the Omani Foreign Minister expressed hope that details regarding the establishment of a “temporary corridor” to restore safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz would be announced soon.
According to Al-Busaidi, the mechanism for the future management of the Strait of Hormuz and the pursuit of a permanent solution will be addressed in accordance with Article 5 of the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.”
He emphasized that diplomatic consultations with regional partners aimed at strengthening peace and stability and ensuring freedom of navigation are continuing in earnest.
