Meanwhile, Canada and eleven European countries (including the UK, France, and Poland) issued a statement yesterday—purely verbal in nature—declaring that the actions of the Israeli regime in the West Bank are undermining the viability of the so-called two-state solution. The situation is rapidly deteriorating, marked by unprecedented levels of settler violence and the expansion of settlements. We are determined to restrict trade with settlements that are considered illegal under international law. Israel must immediately halt the expansion of settlements and ensure accountability for settler violence. We remain committed to the two-state solution and will take the necessary steps to achieve a just and lasting peace. We strongly oppose any action that amounts to the annexation of Palestinian territories or the forced displacement of the population.
